Role overview

Senior Cloud Engineer (Remote, Full-Time)

Soteria is looking for a cloud-agnostic engineer comfortable building across AWS and Azure, treating AI enablement as part of the toolkit. You’ll lead the design, deployment, and management of complex, multi-cloud infrastructure while translating ambiguous requirements into clean, well-documented solutions.

Responsibilities

Cloud architecture & engineering

• Design, architect, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation)
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline
• Drive cloud governance, cost optimization, and resource lifecycle management in multi-cloud environments
• Implement and maintain security posture using native tooling (e.g., Azure Security Center, AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Defender for Cloud)

Client & stakeholder engagement

• Engage directly with clients to understand requirements, define solutions, and communicate implementation plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Participate in discovery calls, technical reviews, and ongoing relationship management
• Translate business needs into documented cloud architectures without extensive handholding

Security, compliance & identity

• Design and enforce IAM solutions across Entra ID (Azure AD), AWS IAM, and third-party platforms (Okta, Duo)
• Align implementations with security frameworks including NIST and CIS, supporting SOC 2 compliance requirements

Automation & documentation

• Automate infrastructure deployments and operational tasks using PowerShell, Python, AWS CLI/Azure CLI, and Graph/AWS APIs
• Produce thorough technical documentation (including architecture diagrams)
