Senior Cloud Engineer (EverCommerce)

Role overview

Join EverCommerce as a Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the architecture, deployment, and continuous operation of cloud infrastructure. This is a full-remote role with opportunities for professional development and collaboration with engineering, DevOps, and security teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and evolve AWS cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Define standards and best practices for:
  • Availability and scalability
  • Disaster recovery
  • Security across cloud services
• Build and maintain automation for:
  • Provisioning and deployment
  • Monitoring, alerting, and remediation
  • Using scripting and CI/CD pipelines
• Manage AWS Organization services and collaborate cross-functionally with DevOps and security.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years designing, operating, and scaling cloud infrastructure with deep AWS expertise.
• Strong foundation in networking, IAM, and cloud security fundamentals.
• Proven ability to mentor and provide technical leadership.
• Hands-on experience with automation and CI/CD for cloud-native workloads.
• Solid infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform preferred).
• Experience designing highly available, secure, disaster-resilient production systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience leveraging AI-assisted tools or intelligent automation for cloud operations, observability, or cost optimization.
• FinOps familiarity and cloud cost optimization tools.
• Experience with containers (EKS), serverless architectures, or microservices.
• Hands-on experience implementing Teleport PAM.
• Experience operating hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Knowledge of database platforms and data services.
• Exposure to AI/ML tools for infrastructure automation or operational efficiency.
