Senior Cloud Engineer

Role Overview

Join ClickHouse as a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and secure ClickHouse Cloud across regulated and mission-critical environments. You’ll collaborate with multiple teams to maintain compliance with security frameworks while enabling high-performance, server-less capabilities.

Key Missions

• Design and build a highly available, scalable, and secure ClickHouse Cloud platform for regulated/mission-critical workloads.
• Develop deployment automation across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem systems, including disconnected/air-gapped environments when needed.
• Work with Dataplane and Core teams to ensure software parity with existing cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• Experience with ClickHouse or relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Strong interest in efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance.
• Proficiency in Go or Python for automation and integration.
• 6+ years building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes ecosystem tools (e.g., Helm, Kustomize, operators, Istio/service mesh).
• Strong production debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with containerized deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift), ideally in regulated/enterprise environments.
• Excellent communication; able to work across engineering teams with ownership and accountability.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with secure, regulated, restricted, or air-gapped network environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and/or government cloud variants (AWS/Azure/GCP, AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and on-prem equivalents.
