About the role

Role overview

Join ClickHouse as a Senior Cloud Data Infrastructure Engineer. You will build and maintain the infrastructure needed to transform ClickHouse into a fully functional serverless database solution, working closely with the core database team and other cloud engineering teams.

Key missions

Collaborate with the core database team to evolve ClickHouse into a cloud-native database system and support cloud infrastructure use cases.
Architect and build robust, scalable, highly available distributed infrastructure for the ClickHouse cloud environment.
Partner with other cloud teams to deliver continuous performance and scalability improvements.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure services for ClickHouse.
Operate and troubleshoot production systems, including debugging issues in production.
Participate in on-call operations (e.g., PagerDuty).

Requirements

Public cloud expertise with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including infrastructure as a service offerings (e.g., EC2).
5+ years building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
Experience with data storage, ingestion, and transformation, such as Spark and Kafka (or similar).
Production experience with Go, C++, or Java.
Comfortable with PagerDuty on-call, debugging production issues, and strong problem-solving.
Excellent communication and ability to work across engineering teams.

Nice-to-haves

Experience working with distributed systems at scale (noted as a strong fit).
