About the role

Role Overview

Join ClickHouse as a Senior Cloud Data Infrastructure Engineer. You’ll collaborate with the core database team to evolve ClickHouse into a cloud-native, serverless database solution, building robust distributed infrastructure and improving the metrics/data pipeline.

Key Missions

Partner with the core database team to drive continuous improvements in ClickHouse’s cloud-native architecture.
Build a cloud-native database platform on public cloud infrastructure.
Work on ClickHouse’s in-house Kubernetes operator for infrastructure management.
Architect and deliver robust, scalable, highly available distributed infrastructure.
Improve the metrics pipeline and related observability/data flows.

Responsibilities / Expectations

Debug and resolve production issues; participate in on-call (PagerDuty).
Work across engineering teams with strong communication skills.
Solve data problems at scale, with emphasis on distributed systems and reliability.

Requirements

5+ years of software development experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
Production experience with one or more: Go, C++, or Java.
Experience with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Infrastructure as a Service (e.g., EC2).
Comfort with PagerDuty on-call, production debugging, and strong problem-solving.
Experience with distributed systems.

Nice to Have

Experience with data storage/ingestion/transformation using tools such as Spark and Kafka (or similar).
