Role Overview

Senior Cloud Architect (Remote - US)

You will lead the technical direction of enterprise AWS engagements from design through delivery. This is hands-on architecture—designing solutions, documenting them, and staying accountable for whether they actually ship and work.

Responsibilities

• Design and document AWS solutions based on real customer requirements, then drive implementation with a delivery team
• Architect and build AWS landing zones, container platforms, application hosting environments, and data storage solutions
• Use and guide delivery with AWS services such as:
  • AWS Control Tower
  • EKS/ECS
  • S3
  • Transit Gateway
  • EC2
• Perform cost-benefit and risk-reward analyses to support architectural decisions
• Own technical success for client projects, including validation plans and deployment sequencing
• Partner with engagement managers on customer communication; help craft messaging and occasionally join pre-sales calls
• Mentor team members on leading practices and hold them accountable for implementation quality
• Build consensus across technical stakeholders and unblock stalled implementations

Requirements

• 5+ years as a Solutions Architect, including:
  • 3+ years architecting AWS infrastructure
  • 3+ years building AWS infrastructure
• At least one AWS Professional certification
• 1+ year of infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred)
• 1+ year working with a DevOps toolchain (GitHub, GitLab, or AWS Code* Suite)
• Strong knowledge of AWS security practices
• Proficiency with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet)
• At least one scripting language: Python, Java, or Node.js
• Ability to work across multiple clients with strong communication and time management
• Working knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall delivery

Nice to Have

• Additional AWS certifications (Developer Associate, SysOps Administrator Associate, Solutions Architect Associate)
• Container development and orchestration with Kubernetes, Docker, or EKS
• Experience embedding static/dynamic code analysis into CI/CD pipelines
• Prior management experience (though the role is individual contributor)
