Responsibilities
- Own and operate CoLab’s US cloud infrastructure, including FedRAMP High in AWS GovCloud.
- Support Continuous Monitoring (ConMon): vulnerability remediation, logging, and audit readiness.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to maintain the compliance posture, support audits/assessments, and meet ongoing requirements.
- Contribute to scaling infrastructure for customer onboarding in regulated environments.
- Write and maintain Terraform for infrastructure deployments via SpaceLift.
- Build and troubleshoot AWS Lambda functions (primarily in Python) for automation.
- Investigate production issues by diagnosing stack traces, improving monitoring, and enhancing APM tracing.
- Work with the Platform Team on secure, scalable infrastructure design and implementation.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors during Public Sector implementation and assessments.
How Success Looks (First 90 Days)
- 30 days: Completed onboarding and security training; contributed code; can work across Commercial and Public Sector environments.
- 60 days: Contributing substantial code (Terraform, Python), reviewing others, and operating independently in the Public Sector environment.
- 90 days: Operating independently across both environments; proactively resolving issues; improving reliability; supporting compliance and monitoring activities.
Requirements / Ideal Candidate
- Senior engineer with deep hands-on cloud experience.
- Strong ability to write Infrastructure as Code and manage complex environments.
- Security-first approach and bias for clean, auditable code.
- Ability to break down unknowns (e.g., stack traces) and own infrastructure problems end-to-end.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and working in a “figure-it-out” environment.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently while leveraging team support.
Nice-to-haves (Implied by Responsibilities)
- Experience working in regulated environments and maintaining FedRAMP authorization.
- Familiarity with Datadog APM tracing and observability improvements.
