About the role
Role overview
You’ll join Enabl in Karlsruhe to build the connectivity “nervous system” for remote-controlled industrial forklifts and vehicles. The goal is stable, low-latency communication and reliable real-time operation even when network conditions change.
Responsibilities
- Develop the software stack in modern C++ and Python, ensuring reliable communication between remote vehicles and remote stations.
- Make video streams and control data run reliably under varying network conditions, including live testing on the vehicle.
- Perform on-site WiFi environment analysis at customers (channel/interference analysis and coordination with the customer’s IT team).
- Implement lasting code-based fixes for connectivity issues.
- Build test infrastructure and CI pipelines to automatically simulate network scenarios.
- Contribute to shaping the roadmap for the connectivity stack.
Requirements
- Solid C++ experience and hands-on WiFi know-how.
- Hands-on experience in at least one of:
- network development
- real-time systems
- video pipelines (e.g., GStreamer)
- robotics (e.g., ROS2)
- At least 5 years of professional experience with modern C++ and Python on Linux.
- Systems thinking with the ability to deliver solutions without being micromanaged.
- German C1+ and English B2.

- Embedded Linux experience
Work model / location
- Based in Karlsruhe with remote work up to 50%.
- Direct access to the company’s test hall for network testing on vehicles.
