About the role
Role Overview
As a Senior C++ Robotics Engineer at Cyngn, you will develop and integrate autonomous vehicle / robotics systems. You’ll design robust robotics software and help ensure reliable, efficient real-time performance in industrial environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust robotics software in C++ using ROS/ROS2.
- Develop and maintain critical system components.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate perception, localization, and control subsystems.
- Optimize real-time system performance for real-time processing.
- Build and maintain automated testing and validation frameworks for system integration.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across hardware, software, and network interfaces.
Requirements
- 5+ years in robotics software development and/or system integration.
- Knowledge of safety-critical software development practices.
- Deep understanding of autonomous vehicle architecture and systems integration.
- Strong real-time performance optimization experience; experience with CUDA.
- Experience with real-time operating systems.
- Strong debugging/problem-solving across hardware and software.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of networking principles and protocols.
- Experience with over-the-air (OTA) update systems.
- Background in electrical systems, CAN protocols, and firmware development.
Nice-to-Haves / Additional Skills
- Familiarity with Open-RMF middleware.
- Strong C++ plus Python and shell scripting.
- Proficiency with ROS/ROS2 and Ubuntu.
- Experience with industrial automation or autonomous mobile robots.
- Experience with Docker/Podman and container systems.
- Familiarity with fleet management / logistics, telematics data processing & analytics.
- Knowledge of telemetry, computer vision and ML deployment.
- Experience with Ansible for configuration management.
- Background in high-performance computing and system optimization.
- Knowledge of system safety and fault tolerance.
- DevOps practices including CI/CD.
- Experience with simulation environments for autonomous testing.
