Senior Business Intelligence Data Analyst

Role Overview

Senior Business Intelligence Data Analyst for Humana’s Service Fund team. You’ll work with large datasets to produce data-driven insights, support value-based program expansion, and help ensure high-accuracy financial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and help value new value-based programs; maintain and support existing programs
• Use complex SQL and analytics tooling to drive process improvements for markets managing value-based relationships
• Conduct research and produce monthly reporting to explain how data reconciles and what it means for current and potential programs
• Create ad hoc reports using Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, and other analytical tools
• Support payments to value-based specialists
• Assist in evaluating and expanding value-based programs into new markets and business areas
• Spearhead adoption of new technologies

Requirements

• 2+ years’ advanced experience developing complex SQL queries
• 1+ year experience with healthcare-related data (e.g., providers, insurance)
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formatting)
• Advanced experience working with big, complex datasets in large organizations
• Strong written and verbal communication to senior/executive leadership
• Proficiency with Azure Synapse Analytics and/or Databricks/Unified Data Platform

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, CS, Engineering)
• Experience with health insurance data (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, claims, premium data)
• Experience with PySpark and/or Python
• Experience with Power Automate and/or Power Apps for process automation
