Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, Preferred Strategy & Insights

Role overview

As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst on Zillow’s Preferred Strategy & Insights team, you’ll translate complex data into clear, measurable recommendations for the Preferred Seller business. You’ll partner across Product, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to improve the seller journey, conversion, and operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Define and track key success metrics across the Preferred Seller journey.
• Own and run core business reporting, including:
  • dashboards
  • forecasts
  • weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews
• Lead A/B tests, pilots, and experiments to evaluate performance and guide decisions.
• Use analytics to identify trends and growth opportunities across seller and buyer funnels (seller conversion, sales performance, operational efficiency).
• Turn stakeholder business questions into actionable analysis and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Data to define requirements and build scalable datasets, models, and analytics solutions.
• Create clear analyses and visualizations to speed up internal decision-making.
• Provide thought leadership and mentor junior analysts.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in analytics, operations, consulting, FP&A, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with BI and visualization tools such as Tableau or Periscope.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects end-to-end: problem definition → analysis → recommendation → implementation.
• Ability to design reporting frameworks/analytical roadmaps and communicate them effectively to senior stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Python or R experience.
• Experience using AI-powered tools and LLMs to improve analytical workflows (e.g., data modeling, code generation, storytelling).
• Ability to build models in Excel and produce executive-ready presentations.
