About the role
Role Overview
Senior Brand Product Designer for GM’s Emerging Experiences team. You’ll be a highly experienced individual contributor leading exploratory design work that defines what’s next for GM’s digital experiences across web and mobile.
What You’ll Do
- Lead complex design explorations for future-facing digital experiences, often with limited precedent or incomplete information.
- Translate ambiguous opportunities into clear design strategies, concepts, and high-fidelity artifacts teams can evaluate and implement.
- Create refined interface systems, visual frameworks, and interaction models with strong craft, usability, and brand expression.
- Drive design work independently with minimal guidance, making sound judgments on significant matters and moving work forward across teams.
- Influence product, engineering, and business partners using clear rationale, data, and design storytelling—especially with senior stakeholders.
- Improve processes/frameworks/ways of working to strengthen design effectiveness and support broader functional strategy.
- Own and coordinate delivery of design solutions requiring cross-team collaboration.
- Mentor and elevate other designers through critique, coaching, and hands-on guidance.
- Stay curious about emerging technology and customer needs; use experimentation and concept work to envision what’s next.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Visual Communication, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in product/UX/visual/interface design for digital products and platforms.
- Expertise in interaction design, visual design, systems thinking, and turning abstract opportunities into concrete product direction.
- Proven ability to solve diverse, non-standard design problems using analytical and creative problem-solving.
- Experience leading independently in ambiguous, high-visibility environments.
- Strong cross-functional influence and alignment through communication and presentation.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and modern design workflows (concepting, prototyping, high-fidelity execution).
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support less experienced designers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience shaping (text is truncated in the provided posting).
