About the role

Role Overview

You will join Top Hat as a Senior Backend Software Engineer on the Aktiv Platform team. You will lead end-to-end delivery of complex features, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to build scalable, maintainable backend services.

Key Missions

Lead the full software development lifecycle for complex features, including implementation, comprehensive testing, and debugging.
Drive technical delivery by influencing architectural decisions and ensuring solutions meet long-term business goals.
Mentor junior and intermediate engineers through constructive feedback in code reviews and documentation.

Requirements

Strong expertise in Java with deep knowledge of core programming principles and best practices.
Proven experience with Spring Boot building scalable microservices.
Experience managing data with MongoDB.
Track record with enterprise-level systems requiring high reliability and performance.
Quality focus: deliver testable, observable, and maintainable code.
Ability to design and implement forward-thinking architectures.
Experience building and maintaining high-traffic, high-concurrency systems.
Passion for open-source technologies.
Awareness of UI/UX and ability to contribute to frontend-related technical discussions.
Familiarity with AWS/GCP and containerization tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Demonstrated experience contributing to or leveraging open-source communities.
