Senior Backend Manager (DocV)

Role Overview

As Senior Backend Manager for DocV at Socure, you will lead the DocV Backend Engineering team and shape architecture for the document verification platform. You will ensure performance, reliability, and security while partnering cross-functionally to deliver end-to-end features.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the backend engineering team, fostering ownership, accountability, and technical excellence.
• Make architectural decisions for distributed systems, APIs, and data pipelines supporting:
  • document ingestion
  • ML inference
  • real-time decisioning
• Collaborate with Frontend, Mobile, Infrastructure, Security, and Product teams to deliver end-to-end functionality.

Requirements

• Strong execution-driven leadership focused on architecture, delivery, and people management.
• Ability to communicate effectively and influence technical direction across teams.
• Expertise with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), APIs, and microservices.
• Proven experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience, including 3+ years in technical leadership or engineering management.
• Experience supporting ML-driven services in production.
