Senior Backend Engineer (Sports & Prediction Markets) – Golang

Role overview

Senior Backend Engineer focused on Sports & Prediction Markets. You will help grow 24/7, high-throughput infrastructure and expand core backend domains into sports and prediction ecosystems, powering real-time, transactional sports-domain applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable backend services and distributed systems in Golang for 24/7 global trading and sports-domain apps
• Develop and operate backend services: propose architecture decisions, participate in design reviews, implement features, and perform code reviews
• Serve as technical subject matter expert to embed sports domain knowledge into core backend systems
• Build features for prediction markets, real-time sports data feeds, and interactive mechanics
• Identify and resolve architectural bottlenecks in high-concurrency infrastructure
• Provide high-tier operational support to diagnose complex, real-time client issues and maintain system availability

Requirements

• Mid-to-senior backend engineering experience with production-level mastery in backend systems
• Proven experience with sports systems, sportsbooks, prediction markets, or high-velocity sports-data infrastructure
• Proficiency with Golang, Postgres, Redis, and Kafka
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across cross-functional global teams

Nice-to-haves

• Deep familiarity with transaction-heavy money modules or payment ledgers
• Advanced concurrent systems design, race-condition mitigation, and distributed state machines
• Experience working effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous, startup-like environments
