Role Overview

Senior Backend Engineer (Python) at SplitMetrics, responsible for designing and building backend services. You will develop async processing, integrate LLM-related capabilities, and ensure production stability, observability, and cost-efficient inference.

Responsibilities

Design and build backend services in Python with FastAPI
Implement async job execution and status tracking using async/task queue tooling
Integrate with LLM and other services, prioritizing stability and observability
Build production-ready systems for long-running jobs, including:
- retries
- failure handling
Support microservices-based integrations and data persistence

Requirements

5+ years of Python backend experience
Strong experience with FastAPI
Experience with async task queues: Celery, Redis, Kafka
Production experience with long-running jobs, retries, and failure handling
Basic observability skills (logging/monitoring/alerting)
Experience with PostgreSQL and S3 (or equivalents)
Experience integrating with microservices and working with cross-functional teams (e.g., frontend, ML)

Nice to Have

Familiarity with LangChain or agentic workflows
Experience with AWS infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes
Experience with StarRocks (or similar OLAP databases like ClickHouse)
Marketing technology background (ad platforms, creative tools)

Full remote; based in Warsaw, Poland (timezone/geo indicated in posting)
