Role overview
Senior Backend/Product Engineer (Product Infrastructure) at Polymarket, owning core domain APIs and data models for the consumer product. You’ll build backend primitives that frontend, mobile, and product teams build on, with high ownership and strong execution.
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve domain APIs & data models that underpin the consumer product at scale
- Build real-time infrastructure using gRPC/Connect services and real-time streaming systems (including WebSocket-to-gRPC-stream migrations) plus event/notification infrastructure
- Ship end-user features by partnering with frontend, mobile, and product teams (e.g., personalization, search, live data feeds)
- Unify fragmented services and APIs into cleaner, reusable primitives
- Balance technical-debt cleanup with delivery under tight P0 deadlines
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering across product, infra, and data teams
