Senior Backend Engineer

Role Overview

Nourish is hiring Senior Backend Engineers to help shape the future of its core platform. You’ll be an early, key member of the engineering team, partnering closely with product, design, and analytics to deliver critical platform features.

The role reports to the Engineering Manager of your Pod and involves owning major parts of the codebase—setting ambitious timelines and leading project deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship high-impact backend products and features quickly while maintaining quality.
• Drive continuous improvements to engineering processes, tools, and systems to scale the codebase and improve team productivity.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, engineering, and analytics in a data-driven experimentation culture.
• Contribute to estimation, planning, and execution for projects, features, and integrations.
• Develop and maintain backend services and/or infrastructure to maintain and elevate the existing codebase.
• Write clean, fully-tested, high-performance backend code.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years as a backend-focused software engineer.
• Preferably experience building high-performance internal platforms (e.g., to improve operations, developer experience, or DevOps).
• 3+ years using the core tech stack: TypeScript, Node.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL, AWS (or strong motivation to cross-train and upskill).
• Ability to independently take a project from idea → implementation and execute with speed.

• Experience building internal platforms and improving developer experience and/or DevOps workflows.
