Senior Backend Engineer New York, NY or Remote

Role Overview

Nourish is seeking Senior Backend Engineers to help shape the future of its core platform. You’ll be an early, key member of the engineering team, partnering with engineering, product, design, and analytics to deliver critical features and scalable technology.

The role is full-time and can be remote or onsite/hybrid from NYC (Union Square).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship backend products and features quickly while maintaining high quality
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and systems to scale the codebase and team productivity
• Collaborate cross-functionally to solve challenging, high-impact problems in a data-driven experimentation culture
• Support estimation, planning, and execution of projects, features, and integrations
• Maintain and improve existing systems by developing and maintaining backend services and/or infrastructure
• Write clean, fully tested, high-performance code

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years as a backend-focused software engineer (preferably building high-performance internal platforms for ops, developer experience, or DevOps)
• 3+ years using the core tech stack, or strong willingness to cross-train/upskill:
  • TypeScript, Node.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL, AWS
• Ability to take a project from idea to implementation and ship independently

• Experience in platform work that improves internal business operations or developer productivity
