About the role
Role overview
MyOme is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the integrations and portal team. You will help enable patients and providers to order genetic testing and understand results through backend features, APIs, and integrations.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship new backend features to support portal enhancements
- Create reusable backend capabilities to support integration partners
- Develop and maintain APIs for portal and integrations
- Produce test data to support system design and development
- Participate in code reviews and design discussions
- Work in an Agile environment (sprint planning, retrospectives, continuous improvement)
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term technical sustainability
Requirements
- 6+ years of software development experience
- 2+ years of healthcare/biotech experience
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare software (or other privacy-focused domains)
- Proven track record delivering production-grade web applications
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Comfortable with Python/Django
- Strong API design skills

- Experience in genetics
Location & compensation
- Remote within the US
- Base salary range: $160,000–$200,000 USD/year, based on experience
