About the role

Role Overview

Senior Backend Engineer (Java) at In Tandem. This is a permanent, full-time, remote (USA) role with a rotational structure designed to provide broad platform exposure and accelerated growth across multiple teams and products.

What You’ll Do

Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA analysts, automation engineers, and other web/mobile engineers to deliver features for families and practitioners.
Build robust, scalable backend services and APIs powering family coordination platforms.
Work within modern engineering practices, contributing to AI-powered features that impact millions of families.
Participate in agile rituals and the API guild.
Progress from onboarding and bug fixes to increasingly complex tasks, eventually operating through the SDLC (planning to production releases).
Ship frequently via continuous delivery (production releases several times a day).

Requirements

Deep experience building high-quality software with:
- Relational databases
- Hibernate
- Spring Framework
Familiarity with microservices architecture
Interest/passion for problem solving and AI integrations

Nice to Have / Additional Context

Experience integrating AI-powered features into backend services
Comfort working across multiple backend domains within a larger platform architecture
