Senior Backend Engineer - Integration

Role Overview

Join Sifflet as a Senior Backend Engineer (Integration). You will design and implement new data integrations, evolve the ingestion engine architecture, and drive technical improvements while strengthening team standards and processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new integrations with various data products and sources, accounting for each source’s behavior.
• Evolve the data ingestion engine by making necessary changes to architecture and implementation.
• Add support for new integration types and extend external service connectivity.
• Lead technical improvements to the codebase and overall system architecture.
• Improve team standards and processes, including coaching other engineers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in a backend engineering role (or equivalent).
• Strong backend engineering background; data engineers with software development experience are welcome to apply.
• General knowledge of data warehouses, data visualization solutions, and ETL pipelines.
• Willingness to learn Java and Spring Boot if not already experienced.
• Ownership mindset from design through production; proactive initiative-taking.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability and willingness to coach/mentor engineers to elevate team standards.
