Senior Backend Engineer (Innovate)

Role Overview

You will join Yubo as a Senior Backend Engineer in a multi-disciplinary squad working on bold product bets and high-risk experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver backend capabilities from specifications through production rollout/rollback.
• Ensure high-risk experiments are executed effectively.
• Build resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient systems tailored to experimentation.
• Diagnose and fix complex production issues.
• Strengthen team-level best practices by contributing to:
  • reusable patterns
  • documentation
  • RFCs
  • internal usability of squad-owned systems.

Requirements

• Experience delivering backend systems in production (including rollout/rollback) and handling complex incidents.
• Strong backend engineering practices with a focus on scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with event-driven systems and experimenting at high risk.
• Experience contributing to internal engineering practices (RFCs, documentation, reusable patterns).
