Senior Backend Engineer - Identity & Real-Time Systems

Role Overview

You will join LiveRamp’s Pixel Serving team within Identity Engineering. The team builds real-time data workflows with strict latency targets (single-digit milliseconds up to under 150ms) and provides the gateway for realtime APIs and applications that serve external partners.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale distributed real-time APIs and applications in Go.
• Own production real-time services that integrate with external partners.
• Develop robust cross-team data flows using modern streaming platforms like Redpanda.
• Continuously improve reliability, performance, and maintainability of core production systems.
• Work with the team’s end-to-end stack and collaborate across teams following Scrum.
• Translate business problems into effective technical solutions; mentor/promote engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience deploying high-performance production code.
• 2+ years experience managing/operating high-reliability distributed systems and scaling to high volume.
• Strong track record designing and building maintainable, large-scale systems.
• Ability to navigate complex and unclear problem spaces.

Nice to Have / Bonus

• Experience with 0-to-1 product launch initiatives.
• Experience scaling 1-to-N distributed systems.
• Experience designing high-volume service/API interfaces and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with the AdTech ecosystem.

Compensation & Benefits

• Approximate annual base compensation range: $130,000 – $196,500 (final offer depends on experience, skills, geography, and internal equity).
