Senior Backend Engineer

Role overview

Join EvenUp as a Senior Backend Engineer on a small, tightly-knit team. You’ll help build the core software foundations and contribute to team culture, shipping production code quickly and working across disciplines.

Key missions

• Build innovative technology to modernize an analog industry and improve the lives of injury victims.
• Develop foundational software components and ship production code in under two weeks.
• Collaborate with experts in technology, machine learning, law, and finance; learn and apply new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Own projects from start to finish and drive them to completion.
• Mentor and uplevel teammates.
• Communicate technical topics clearly in actionable terms.
• Work cross-functionally (including data engineering and DevOps).

Requirements

• 5–10+ years experience in backend and/or frontend engineering.
• Experience working with relational databases and/or other database technologies.
• Demonstrated success shipping production-ready code and infrastructure.
• Engineering excellence; experience building what “great” looks like at scale (product and team culture).

Nice to have

• Kubernetes experience.
• Interest in cross-functional work across data engineering and DevOps.
