Role overview

Join Kalepa’s Client Integrations team as a Senior Backend Engineer. You will design and build API endpoints, improve database/query performance, and implement third-party integrations. You’ll collaborate with a global engineering team and take full ownership of your work.

Key responsibilities

Design and build API endpoints for external client integrations
Optimize database and query performance
Integrate with third-party services and translate product requirements into reliable business logic
Diagnose and resolve customer issues in collaboration with the team
Contribute to platform improvements and drive projects to completion
Work with engineers globally to build scalable backend solutions

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience
Strong system design, debugging, and problem-solving fundamentals
Comfort working with relational databases (ideally PostgreSQL)
Strong Python knowledge (main stack)
Experience building external-facing APIs and/or integrations with third-party systems
Experience with serverless/cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Lambda, EC2)
Comfort with asynchronous workflows and cloud environments

Nice to have

Experience with LLMs / generative AI
Experience with distributed systems
