About the role

Role Overview

Join Checkly as a Senior Backend Engineer on Team Tree, supporting enterprise enablement. The role offers high autonomy, end-to-end ownership, and the chance to build capabilities that directly improve customer reliability.

Key Missions

Own and evolve the uptime monitoring platform, delivering new customer capabilities.
Work with infrastructure to deploy a ClickHouse instance to store check run logs and metadata.
Improve the status pages product, aiming for an industry-leading standard of reliability.

Responsibilities

Drive problems end-to-end and deliver business impact.
Contribute across the platform, working with multiple service stacks.

Requirements

Strong interest in developer tooling and testing frameworks, including Playwright.
Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English.
Experience building distributed systems on AWS/GCP or bare metal servers.
Comfort working autonomously in a remote environment.
Deep experience building applications in a professional SaaS product environment.

Nice-to-Haves

Experience with TypeScript (required) and Go (plus).
Willingness to ramp up on Go after joining.
