Role overview

Senior Backend Engineer at Avive Solutions (Full remote). You will design, build, and operate the backend services and APIs that power Avive’s products, collaborating closely with frontend, QA, and DevOps to deliver an end-to-end platform.

Key missions

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs with a focus on performance, reliability, and security.
Work cross-functionally with frontend, QA, and DevOps to deliver solutions.
Document technical designs, APIs, and operational runbooks.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize backend services for scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Implement and use Elasticsearch for search and analytics.

Requirements

Proven production experience developing and maintaining backend systems.
Strong programming expertise in Python and Django.
Practical experience with Elasticsearch (indexing, search, data analytics).
Experience building and consuming APIs, including documentation and testing.
Solid understanding of distributed systems design patterns.
Strong focus on unit tests and automated testing using pytest (or similar).
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (schema design, query optimization).
Experience with Redis (caching, message queues, or real-time data).
Docker and containerized deployments.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Experience with Celery and managing background workers in production.
Agile/Scrum team experience.

Nice-to-have

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
