Senior Backend developer Node.

Role Overview

Join Klanik as a Senior Backend Developer (Node.js / Node-RED) to develop industrial and logistics software. You’ll primarily build backend services and integration layers that connect REST APIs, PostgreSQL databases, and industrial communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Backend development (~80%) using Node.js and Node-RED
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services
  • Build/enhance RESTful APIs and integration layers
  • Interface with SQL (PostgreSQL) databases and industrial machinery
  • Implement scalable, maintainable backend features
  • Participate in architecture discussions and technical design
  • Ensure code quality via reviews and testing
• Integration & testing
  • Develop and execute integration tests
  • Troubleshoot backend and communication issues
  • Validate interactions between APIs, databases, and connected systems
• Collaboration & delivery support
  • Work with frontend developers, project managers, and client stakeholders
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies
  • Support deployment and debugging activities when needed

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of total software development experience
• Strong experience with:
  • JavaScript and Node.js
  • RESTful APIs
  • PostgreSQL / SQL databases
  • Node-RED (or ability to ramp up quickly)
  • Backend architecture and API integrations
  • Integration testing
  • Git/GitLab workflows

Nice to Have

• Vue.js experience
• Frontend exposure: HTML/CSS/JavaScript
• Networking fundamentals
• Industrial protocols such as OPC-UA or TCP/IP
• Experience with WMS / logistics / supply chain / industrial domains

Location, Travel, and Operations

• Atlanta Metropolitan Area (Flexible/Remote possible; preferred onsite if feasible)
• Occasional client-site travel may be required
• Possible on-call rotation (to be confirmed)
