Senior Backend Developer - Node.js

Role overview

Senior Backend Developer (Node.js) to join a globally distributed team building high-performance, real-time financial technology platforms. Own backend services end-to-end, from architecture through deployment, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and modern JavaScript frameworks
• Build and optimize APIs and microservices for high-throughput, low-latency use cases
• Contribute to new features/products using Agile methodologies
• Ensure scalability and reliability for growing global usage and real-time transactions
• Implement strong backend security practices to protect data and infrastructure
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate backend services with other systems
• Work with MySQL and MongoDB to manage and optimize data storage and retrieval
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve backend architecture

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript; production-grade application experience
• Solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems
• Experience building complex platforms with high availability requirements
• Hands-on experience with MySQL and MongoDB
• Familiarity with security best practices in backend development
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and debugging skills with a focus on performance and scalability

Nice to have

• Experience with message queues / caching / job queues (e.g., Redis)
• Additional languages such as Ruby, Rust, or C++
• Exposure to blockchain technologies or high-availability systems
