Senior Backend Developer

Role Overview

Senior Backend Developer for a partner company, joining a globally distributed, remote-first engineering team building scalable backend systems for advanced digital finance and blockchain-powered technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for scalable, high-performance financial platforms.
• Improve and optimize existing backend services written in Node.js to enhance reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Build new backend solutions and integrations interacting with distributed services and microservices (via RPC).
• Write and optimize complex database queries for operational, financial, and compliance workflows.
• Drive platform scalability efforts to ensure real-time responsiveness as demand grows.
• Apply strong backend security practices to protect infrastructure, transactions, and user data.
• Participate in Agile development activities: code reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Help maintain and evolve backend infrastructure, including messaging systems, caching layers, and job queue architectures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in JavaScript/Node.js backend development.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems design.
• Experience contributing to complex, large-scale platforms.
• Solid experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL and MongoDB).
• Strong backend security knowledge (secure API development and infrastructure protection).
• Experience with high-availability systems, scalability optimization, and real-time performance.
• Strong ability to learn new technologies and collaborate effectively in remote Agile teams.
