Senior Backend Developer

Role overview

Jobgether is hiring a Senior Backend Developer for a partner company. You’ll join a remote-first, globally distributed engineering team building scalable backend systems for digital finance products with blockchain-powered technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for high-performance financial platforms
• Translate business requirements into practical technical architectures with product, engineering, design, and stakeholders
• Optimize and improve existing backend services written in Node.js for reliability, scalability, and performance
• Build new backend solutions and integrations with distributed services and microservices (via RPC)
• Write and optimize complex database queries for operational, financial, and compliance processes
• Drive platform scalability to support real-time responsiveness as demand grows
• Apply backend security best practices to protect infrastructure, transactions, and user data
• Participate in Agile processes, code reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
• Help maintain and evolve backend infrastructure including messaging, caching layers, and job queue architectures

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience with JavaScript and Node.js backend development
• Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems design
• Experience on complex, large-scale platforms or applications
• Solid experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL and MongoDB)
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and engineering practices
• Strong backend security knowledge (secure API development and infrastructure protection)
• Valued: experience with high-availability, scalability optimization, and real-time performance
• Strong advantage: blockchain integration familiarity
• Preferred: Redis, message queues, caching systems, and job queues
• Plus: Ruby and Ruby on Rails
• Strong communication and collaboration in remote, cross-functional Agile teams
