Senior Backend Developer

Role Overview

Senior Backend Developer (fintech/blockchain) building backend services, APIs, and microservices that power mission-critical digital asset and blockchain platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for scalable financial and blockchain-related platforms.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders to turn technical and business requirements into backend architectures.
• Improve and optimize existing backend services built with Node.js to increase scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Develop new microservices and distributed solutions that communicate across systems using RPC and other integration methods.
• Write and optimize complex database queries for operational, compliance, and financial reporting.
• Ensure strong backend security standards (secure API design, best practices) to protect platform integrity and user data.
• Contribute to high-availability architectures and real-time responsiveness as the platform scales globally.
• Debug and troubleshoot backend infrastructure and continuously improve services.
• Support agile development and deliver backend enhancements and innovative platform features.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional experience in backend development with JavaScript and Node.js.
• Strong understanding of microservices and distributed backend systems.
• Experience building complex, high-scale platforms/applications.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL and/or MongoDB (relational and NoSQL).
• Knowledge of backend security principles and secure API design.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and tools.
• Familiarity with high-availability systems, real-time services, and scalable backend infrastructure.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work in remote, collaborative teams.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Nice to Have

• Blockchain integrations or decentralized technologies.
• Redis, message queues, caches, and background job processing tools.
• Exposure to Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
