About the role

Role overview

Senior Back-End Software Engineer, Infra to help shape and scale the infrastructure behind a rapidly growing global platform. You will modernize backend systems, improve performance, ensure long-term scalability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.

Responsibilities

Own and continuously improve the Rails-based backend infrastructure (modern, secure, high-performing).
Build and maintain internal tools, SDKs, and libraries to improve developer productivity and scalability.
Collaborate with front-end engineers and SRE teams to strengthen observability, reliability, and performance.
Identify opportunities to replace third-party services with efficient in-house solutions.
Contribute to architecture decisions focused on performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

5+ years of backend engineering experience, with strong focus on infrastructure or platform systems.
Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails, including performance tuning, system design, and dependency management.
Solid experience with relational databases such as MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
Proven track record improving scalability, reliability, and overall performance.
Strong communication skills for remote, asynchronous work.
Fluent English (written and spoken).

Bonus / Nice to have

Experience scaling high-growth platforms.
Experience with React.
Experience building internal tools and SDKs.
