Senior Back End Software Developer (AI, Java, Vert.x, AWS) - Remote US

Role Overview

Senior Back End Software Developer for Revvity’s Signals Software team. You will help build the back-end for Revvity’s next-generation cloud notebook application, translating marketing requirements into secure, elegant features for the scientific community.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and product partners on priorities, specifications, and feature implementation
• Design and develop back-end services and interfaces for the cloud notebook product
• Write clean, well-documented, tested code
• Build and maintain new high-impact functionality for Signals Notebook
• Create secure and performant services
• Work with cloud services and modern back-end technologies

Basic Qualifications

• 5–7 years of Java programming
• 3–5 years with Reactive Programming using Vert.x
• 1–2 years hands-on experience using AI tools for development, including creating AI agents and leveraging AI tooling
• 3–5 years building Web Services and RESTful APIs

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience with the latest AI tools for development
• Exposure to CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub)
• Experience with JDBC in transactional applications (any RDBMS; preferably PostgreSQL)
• Awareness of performance implications for queries and inserts/updates
• Experience with structured SDLC: design, development, and testing in an Agile environment
• Strong teamwork orientation and ability to foster collaboration across teams
• Life science / chemistry / biology experience (plus)

Work Location / Schedule

• Remote US only; working hours in EST
• Must be able to interview in-person at headquarters in Waltham, MA
