Role Overview

Senior Back End Engineer at Abacum, building a complex business planning and real-time calculations platform for finance teams.

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with engineers, product designers, and product to experiment and test new ideas.
Take ownership of the back-end components you build and operate them reliably.
Drive user-defined data modeling and performance using reusable building blocks (models, variables, formulas).
Scale a complex data and calculations platform for rapidly growing clients.
Incorporate customer feedback with product and operations to continuously improve the product.
Support observability and maintain strong performance through operational practices.

Requirements

Strong product mindset and ownership.
Data-driven approach and ability to work with complex data structures.
Deep understanding of performance when building and operating systems, supported by observability.
Proficiency with the core stack:
- Python
- PostgreSQL
- Kubernetes
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Nice to Have (Bonus)

Experience with Pandas/Polars or similar DataFrames tools.
Experience building ML/AI solutions.
