Senior Azure Kubernetes Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Azure Kubernetes Engineer for a Healthcare Payer Platform (remote). You will operate and evolve Kubernetes platforms on Azure (AKS) supporting healthcare payer workloads.

Must Have

• 5+ years of hands-on experience operating Kubernetes platforms, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), in production
• Healthcare Payer Platform experience is required to be considered

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot Kubernetes in production, including:
  • Cluster builds and upgrades
  • Node pool management and autoscaling
  • Ingress management
  • Reliability and incident troubleshooting
• Manage Azure infrastructure for AKS and secure connectivity, including:
  • Virtual networks/subnets
  • Load balancers
  • Identity integration
  • Monitoring
• Support containerized enterprise and mission-critical applications
• Create and manage Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments
• Support containerized .NET / ASP.NET Core applications
• Work with Microsoft SQL Server (connectivity, performance, high availability)
• (Preferred/Standout) Support healthcare payer platforms such as TriZetto QNXT and Facets
• Operate in PHI-regulated and security-sensitive environments
• Support deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitOps
• Support batch-heavy healthcare workloads on AKS

Requirements

• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep
• Kubernetes/Azure certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or Azure Administrator
• Background in healthcare/insurance (Medicare/Medicaid/Exchange programs)

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with PHI-regulated healthcare environments
• Experience with TriZetto QNXT, Facets, or other healthcare payer platforms
• Azure DevOps and/or GitOps-based deployment pipelines
