About the role
Role Overview
Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (US Remote) to join Streamline Healthcare Solutions’ Cloud Engineering team. You will own and continuously improve the Azure infrastructure powering the SmartCare™ healthcare platform in a hands-on, engineering-led capacity (not ticket-driven operations and not application development).
Responsibilities
- Design, build, secure, and operate secure, scalable Azure infrastructure across multiple environments (IaaS and PaaS)
- Own Infrastructure as Code standards using Terraform and/or Bicep (automated, repeatable deployments)
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for reliable infrastructure delivery
- Develop PowerShell automation to reduce manual operational work (Python is a plus)
- Implement Azure security controls, including RBAC, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, and secure networking patterns for regulated healthcare environments
- Perform root-cause analysis and strengthen monitoring using Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics
- Support high-availability and disaster recovery designs for production workloads
- Mentor engineers and contribute to architectural decisions and cloud platform standards
Requirements
- 7+ years in infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure at production scale
- Advanced Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform/Bicep/ARM templates), with a strong automation mindset
- Strong Azure networking knowledge (VNets, NSGs, firewalls, load balancers, private endpoints)
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills; experience supporting Windows Server and SQL Server workloads in Azure
- Working knowledge of Entra ID and Active Directory, including hybrid/on-prem integrations
- Track record in compliance-sensitive/regulated environments (healthcare experience is a plus)
- Refined communication, analytical, and documentation skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with AKS/Kubernetes or prior technical lead experience
- Familiarity with AI coding assistants (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)
