About the role

Role Overview

Smart Working is hiring a Senior App & Frontend Developer to lead hands-on development of modern web and hybrid mobile applications. You’ll shape frontend architecture, drive UI quality, and partner with the engineering team to deliver scalable, maintainable products in a small, focused environment.

Responsibilities

Lead frontend and hybrid app development across web and mobile platforms
Build and maintain scalable frontend applications using React and modern frontend frameworks
Develop hybrid mobile apps using Ionic and Capacitor
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality UX
Define and implement frontend architecture, standards, and best practices
Ensure responsive, performant, and accessible UI across devices and platforms
Support and mentor other engineers (hands-on, within the team)
Evaluate and adopt modern frontend technologies and AI tools to improve engineering efficiency
Work with backend systems to integrate APIs and services
Contribute to technical decisions, project planning, and delivery

Requirements

10+ years experience building production-grade apps with React
5+ years experience with Angular (15+) in production
Strong CSS and modern UI development practices
Experience using AI tools in software development workflows
Strong experience with Ionic (7+) and Capacitor for hybrid mobile development
Proven experience leading frontend delivery or technical execution
Strong understanding of application architecture and UI performance optimization
Ownership mindset in a small team environment
Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

Frontend architecture leadership in small or mid-sized teams
Experience with cross-platform mobile development challenges
Track record improving frontend performance and scalability in production
Familiarity with modern design systems and UI component libraries
Experience in fast-moving, product-focused environments
Interest in AI-assisted development and modern engineering workflows
Experience mentoring junior engineers (without formal management responsibility)

Benefits / Work Schedule

Fixed shifts based on season: 12:00–9:30 PM IST (Summer), 1:00–10:30 PM IST (Winter)
No weekend work
