Role Overview

Senior Android Engineer (Remote)

Join the team to triage and debug field issues reported by users of Android applications, and help build new features. You will collaborate with development, QA, lifecycle engineering, systems, and support teams to resolve issues quickly and improve the overall user experience.

Responsibilities

Triage and debug field issues reported by users of Android applications
Analyze crash reports, logs, and diagnostic data to identify root causes
Understand existing product design, code, and use cases to support new feature development and bug fixes
Write clean, maintainable, efficient code
Switch between multiple work streams (new features, research, and fixes in legacy code)
Reproduce issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement resolutions
Prioritize and manage multiple issues simultaneously
Communicate with support teams and stakeholders to gather info and provide status updates
Participate in code reviews and contribute to knowledge sharing
Work with system teams to develop and execute test plans for reproducing and verifying fixes

Requirements

5+ years of native Android development and debugging experience
Strong app development experience with Java/Kotlin
Ability to debug Kotlin/Java and Android native code
Experience building applications with BLE and secure cloud connectivity
Familiarity with Android frameworks/libraries/tools: KMM, Jetpack Compose, and Kotlin Coroutines
Experience with version control, testing processes, and release documentation
Experience using Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and virtual environments
Strong analysis of logs/diagnostic data and excellent problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication

Nice to Have

Experience in FDA/medical or other regulated environments (e.g., GDPR)

Work Details

Remote role with collaboration aligned to US/MX time zones (PST/EST)
Participation in daily triage meetings when scheduled
Weekly/daily syncs may be required with globally distributed teams in the USA and Mexico
