Senior Andriod Developer

Role

Senior Android Developer to design, develop, and deliver scalable and secure native Android applications. Remote, full-time (W2 only, no C2C), working with Agile and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop & maintain native Android apps using Kotlin/Java, Android SDK, Android Studio, and Jetpack.
• Create responsive UI using XML layouts, Material Design, Jetpack Compose, and reusable UI components.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and backend services using Retrofit, Volley, OkHttp, and JSON/XML parsing.
• Apply modern architecture patterns including MVVM, MVP, MVC, Clean Architecture, and Repository Pattern.
• Use Android Jetpack components: LiveData, ViewModel, Navigation Component, Room, WorkManager, Data Binding.
• Implement local persistence using SQLite/Room, SharedPreferences, and Realm.
• Deliver unit, UI, and automation tests with JUnit, Espresso, Mockito, and Android testing frameworks.
• Optimize performance (memory, battery, responsiveness) via profiling, debugging, and tuning.
• Integrate Firebase: Authentication, Firestore, FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config.
• Implement mobile security practices: OAuth2, JWT, SSL pinning, encryption, secure storage, and RBAC.
• Configure CI/CD for Android builds and deployments using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Fastlane, or Azure DevOps.
• Manage Google Play Store publishing (signing, versioning, compliance).
• Use Git (GitHub/Bitbucket/GitLab) for collaborative development.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and perform code reviews.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to best practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong in Kotlin, Java, and Android SDK.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and/or XML/Material Design.
• Proficiency with Jetpack components (LiveData/ViewModel/Navigation/Room/WorkManager/Data Binding).
• Solid REST integration experience with Retrofit/Volley/OkHttp.
• Experience with architecture patterns (MVVM/Clean Architecture/Repository).
• Testing experience with JUnit/Espresso/Mockito.

Nice-to-haves (implied)

• Expertise across security (OAuth2/JWT/SSL pinning), Firebase services, and Android CI/CD/release management.
