Senior Andriod Developer

Role Overview

Senior Android Developer to design, develop, and deliver enterprise-grade Android mobile applications in a remote, full-time role (W2 only; no C2C).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native Android apps using Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, Android Studio, and Jetpack libraries.
• Build responsive, user-friendly interfaces with XML layouts, Material Design, Jetpack Compose, and reusable UI components.
• Integrate backend services and RESTful APIs using Retrofit, Volley, OkHttp, and JSON/XML parsing.
• Apply modern architecture patterns: MVVM, MVP, MVC, Clean Architecture, and Repository Pattern.
• Use Jetpack components such as LiveData, ViewModel, Navigation Component, Room, WorkManager, and Data Binding.
• Implement local persistence using SQLite/Room, SharedPreferences, and Realm.
• Deliver quality via unit, UI, and automation testing with JUnit, Espresso, and Mockito.
• Optimize performance (memory, battery, responsiveness) using profiling and performance tuning.
• Integrate Firebase services: Authentication, Firestore, FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config.
• Implement security best practices including OAuth2, JWT, SSL pinning, encryption, secure storage, and RBAC.
• Maintain CI/CD for Android builds and releases using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Fastlane, or Azure DevOps.
• Manage deployment to Google Play Store (signing, versioning, compliance).
• Use version control (Git/GitHub/Bitbucket/GitLab) and work in an Agile/Scrum process.
• Mentor junior developers and drive Android best practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Jetpack Compose, XML, Jetpack components (LiveData/ViewModel/Navigation/Room/WorkManager/Data Binding).
• Proficiency with REST APIs and integration tools (Retrofit/Volley/OkHttp, JSON/XML parsing).
• Database and storage experience: SQLite, Room, Realm, SharedPreferences.
• Firebase services: Authentication, Firestore, FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config.
• Testing: JUnit, Espresso, Mockito (Android Testing Frameworks).

Nice-to-haves / Additional Signals

• Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/Fastlane/Azure DevOps).
• Experience with OAuth2/JWT/SSL pinning and mobile security hardening.
• Experience with Google Play publishing and app signing/versioning.
