Role Overview

Senior Android Developer (Remote)

• Full-time (W2 only)
• 10+ years of professional experience

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native Android apps using Kotlin/Java and Android SDK, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Build responsive, user-friendly UI with XML layouts, Material Design, Jetpack Compose, and reusable UI components.
• Integrate backend services via REST APIs using Retrofit, Volley, OkHttp, and JSON/XML parsing.
• Apply modern architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVP, MVC, Clean Architecture, and Repository Pattern.
• Use Android Jetpack components for lifecycle and performance improvements (e.g., LiveData, ViewModel, Navigation Component, Room, WorkManager, Data Binding).
• Implement local persistence and storage (e.g., SQLite/Room, SharedPreferences, Realm).
• Write and run tests: unit, UI, and automation tests using JUnit, Espresso, Mockito.
• Profile and optimize app performance (memory, battery, responsiveness).
• Integrate Firebase services (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging/FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config).
• Implement mobile security best practices (OAuth2/JWT, SSL pinning, encryption, secure storage, RBAC).
• Configure and maintain CI/CD for Android builds and deployments (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Fastlane, Azure DevOps).
• Support Google Play Store publishing and deployment (signing, versioning, compliance).
• Use Git hosting platforms for collaborative development.
• Work in Agile/Scrum (sprint planning, grooming, stand-ups, code reviews) and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Android mobile development experience.
• Strong expertise in Android SDK, Kotlin, Java, and modern Android architecture patterns.
• Experience integrating REST APIs (Retrofit/Volley/OkHttp) and parsing JSON/XML.
• Proficiency with Jetpack (LiveData, ViewModel, Navigation, Room, WorkManager, Data Binding) and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with testing using JUnit, Espresso, Mockito.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling for Android.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Firebase services and mobile security practices (OAuth2/JWT, SSL pinning, encryption, secure storage, RBAC).
• Experience with local storage technologies including Room, SQLite, SharedPreferences, and Realm.
• Experience optimizing performance (profiling/debugging/tuning).
