About the role
Role Overview
Moxie is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to own and evolve its Semantic Layer (data foundation) that powers strategic initiatives and AI-driven insights in the Moxie Suite product. You’ll work as the second full-time engineer on a small Data & Analytics team, partnering closely with a BizOps counterpart to focus on deep engineering rather than analyst work.
What You’ll Do
- Own and evolve the Semantic Layer using dbt + Omni.
- Build benchmarking and segmentation datasets for medspa performance pillars:
- Patient acquisition and retention
- Operational performance and related KPIs
- Enable embedded AI in Moxie Suite by creating high-quality datasets that support:
- Conversational analytics
- Accurate recommendations (targeting 98%+ accuracy for core operational metrics)
- Drive data trust through Revenue Reconciliation & Operations within the Data Governance initiative (e.g., unblocking enterprise-critical reporting like staff and service-level pay).
- Partner with BizOps to define correlation and affinity metrics (e.g., linking specific services to increased retention) for Sales and PSM teams.
- Lay groundwork for predictive analytics to move from descriptive (“what happened”) to predictive/prescriptive (“what will happen” and “what to do about it”).
Requirements
- Strong data modeling skills with deep dbt and SQL expertise.
- Ability to create clean, scalable, well-documented models that others can trust.
- Frustration with data that can’t be defended.
- Strong engineering + business bridge: comfortable discussing medspa KPIs (e.g., AOV, retention rate) and implementing/optimizing data models.
- 3–6 years experience in analytics engineering or a closely related role.
- Ideally experience in vertical SaaS or healthcare-adjacent environments where data quality is critical.
- AI-curious mindset (mentions AI tools/experimentation with LLMs or experience in companies with bold AI adoption).
- Clear communication skills to translate data findings into business recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience as an early/foundational data hire, or readiness to take on that level of ownership.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code (or similar).
- Exposure to practice intelligence / healthcare operational analytics contexts.
