About the role
Role overview
As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Amplify (fully remote), you will help deliver clean, accurate, and reliable data models and metrics for product reporting and development. You’ll work closely with data scientists, analysts, engineers, and software teams to turn analytics needs into trusted metrics—while respecting privacy and ensuring security.
Key missions
- Design and implement data models, metrics, and analytical solutions that support product development and reporting.
- Lead ETL/ELT pipeline development, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and reliability using data engineering best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and drive continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Requirements
- Expertise in ETL/ELT, analytical data modeling, aggregations, and metrics.
- 5+ years of professional software development or analytics engineering experience.
- Strong communication skills, including writing engineering training/documentation.
- Expertise in Git and dbt (with preferred automation skills).
- Expertise in analytical modeling architectures, including Kimball design.
- BS in Computer Science/Data Science or equivalent experience.
- Strong SQL skills for code-based ETL frameworks (preferably dbt), emphasizing reuse and efficiency.
- Fluency in a development language such as Python.
- Familiarity with Atlan (metadata management).
Nice to have / additional experience
- Experience building dashboards/reports/models in Tableau or Looker.
- Experience with storage systems including Snowflake, AWS storage services (S3, RDS, Glacier, DynamoDB), and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Cube.dev, Airflow, Matillion, Fivetran.
- Proven passion for teaching (engineers and non-engineers) and for learning/building (open source, pet projects).
- Experience in education/ed-tech.
