About the role
Role Overview
Senior Analytics Engineer (2nd Analytics Engineer) at AirGarage. You will build and own the semantic layer that turns raw tables, columns, and events into well-defined business concepts so analytics tools, internal applications, and AI systems can reliably understand parking-lot and garage performance.
Responsibilities
- Own the semantic layer: add context, consistency, and meaning to raw data so downstream consumers can reason about what’s happening.
- Data stewardship & quality: obsess over data quality, curate raw data into clean, reliable models, and ensure the company’s data is maximized.
- Enable insight generation by helping build and maintain the world’s best parking database.
- Partner with leadership (founding team/company leadership) to build a best-in-class analytics system for external partners and internal teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, data, sales, marketing, and product to understand data needs and deliver:
- pipelines
- data marts
- other data solutions that improve decision-making.
Requirements
- Strong background in analytics engineering and data modeling.
- Proven ability to create a semantic layer that standardizes business concepts and improves downstream usability.
- Deep commitment to data quality and building reliable models for analytics/AI consumption.
- Ability to stay close to business users, understand their needs, and foster a data-driven culture.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience building domain-specific datasets (e.g., events/observability style data) and supporting AI/analytics consumers.
- Experience working in a lean data team and owning key data infrastructure components end-to-end.
