Senior Analyst, Data Analytics, SIU

Role Overview

Oscar is hiring a Senior Analyst, Data Analytics (SIU) to join its SIU team. In this role, you partner across the organization to identify and reduce inefficiencies by analyzing key financial and utilization metrics. The goal is to help reduce medical waste and improve affordability and quality of care for Oscar members.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data to support business teams in making better, data-driven decisions.
• Translate analysis into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders (packaging and presenting findings).
• Create, maintain, and enhance operational and analytical dashboards as user needs evolve.
• Build models and tools to generate insights that identify and remove inefficiencies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify improvement actions and monitor initiative impact.
• Support other strategic projects as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

• 1+ years of technical experience using analytical tools and writing analytical reports.
• 1+ years experience working with large datasets and distilling insights using structured, systematic thinking.
• Strong verbal and written communication for business reporting; experience on 2+ reporting projects connecting technical and non-technical users.
• SQL experience (filtering, aggregation, and CTEs) or proficiency in R or Python (including Pandas, loops, and statistical tests).
• Proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel, including VLOOKUP, nested IF statements, and connected Sheets.
• 1+ years experience in healthcare, finance, or insurance.

Bonus Points

• 1+ years experience preparing healthcare analytics and reporting.
• 1+ years experience managing value-based contracts at a payer or provider (text truncated).
