Senior Algorithm Engineer

Role overview

Join Beacon Biosignals as a Senior Algorithm Engineer to lead the end-to-end development lifecycle of biosignal-based algorithms for medical devices.

Key missions

• Drive the algorithm development lifecycle: requirements/specifications, data curation and labeling, development, failure analysis, production, maintenance, and documentation.
• Select and apply the most suitable approach for each problem, knowing when to use deep learning vs. other methods.
• Improve internal deep learning/ML tooling to increase team efficiency, including:
  • Introducing new model architectures and algorithmic techniques
  • Refactoring the codebase to improve reusability
• Present results to key stakeholders and support client-facing projects.

Responsibilities (software & ML engineering best practices)

• Apply best practices across ML engineering, including:
  • Testing, version control, code reviews, documentation
  • Dockerization, CI/CD, and experiment tracking
• Support collaboration through open communication and continuous feedback.

Requirements

• 4+ years of industry experience in machine learning and deep learning.
• PyTorch proficiency (preferred) or other deep learning frameworks.
• Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) and statistics.
• Experience bringing algorithms into production, ideally in health sciences or other regulated fields.
• Ability to explain and present complex technical topics to relevant audiences (internal and external).

Nice-to-haves

• Domain familiarity with biosignals, medical imaging data, or large time-series datasets.
• Experience with recent deep learning advances such as Transformers/ViT and large-scale modeling/training.
