About the role

Role overview

Join Lattice as a Senior AI Product Designer in a new experimental team integrating AI into how managers, employees, and HR leaders do their best work. You’ll help shape and ship AI-powered product experiences across both new surfaces inside Lattice and the external tools customers already use.

Key missions

Design and ship AI-powered product experiences in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Partner with engineering to refine AI outputs so results match the intended user experience.
Define the AI assistant’s voice, tone, and persona and ensure consistency across all surfaces.
Work on experiences that integrate smoothly into AI-assisted workflows and multi-persona journeys.

Requirements

Strong curiosity and willingness to experiment as AI best practices evolve.
Experience designing for non-deterministic AI systems, including:
- trust-building and graceful failure (e.g., hallucinations, confidence/citations, fallbacks, “I don’t know,” human-in-the-loop)
- thoughtful output formatting and tone
- streaming/latency-aware design for fast, legible mid-response experiences
0→1 mindset: prototype, validate, iterate, and ship with customer collaboration (design partners, first customers, beta programs) and strong pre-GA validation.
Ability to operate through ambiguity with autonomy and cross-functional collaboration (including synthesis supported by research).
Ability to think across multiple personas (managers, employees, admins, HR leaders) to create a cohesive AI experience across a suite of products.
Clear POV on AI voice, tone, and persona consistency.
3 to 5+ years of product design experience, including meaningful time shipping AI-powered experiences (chat/agents/AI-assisted workflows) or adjacent domains.
Strong collaboration and feedback culture with designers and the wider cross-functional team.
Experience working with design systems (reusing patterns/components) and also building new ones when AI-native interaction requires it.
UX craft focused on defining the real problem, mapping launch edge cases, building mental models, and keeping cognitive load low.
Ability to design within complex, multi-product workflows.

Experience designing scalable, durable AI-augmented workflows where AI meaningfully augments the user’s job.
