About the role
Role overview
Senior AI Platform Engineer on Samsara’s Integrations, Data Engineering, and AI (IDEA) team. You will build, ship, and scale Samsara’s Enterprise AI platform enabling end-to-end capabilities for AI agents, including deployment, management, and governance.
Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of AI-powered systems: design/prototyping through production deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Build and own an end-to-end Data & AI platform (including ideation, prototyping, deployment, and monitoring).
- Architect and scale company-wide GenAI capabilities for domain-specific AI agents embedded in operational workflows.
- Support business users by providing documentation and enabling them to deploy and manage AI agents at scale.
- Lead platform investments in areas such as:
- RAG infrastructure
- Embedding pipelines
- LLM orchestration
- Multi-modal data processing.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to prototype and productionalize AI features.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building and scaling AI platform/data & AI systems from prototype to production.
- Ability to architect GenAI/AI-agent capabilities that integrate into real business workflows.
Nice-to-haves / additional signals
- Experience with Databricks and AWS (or comparable stacks).
- Experience with RAG, embedding pipelines, LLM orchestration, and multi-modal data processing.
