Senior AI Platform Engineer

Role overview

Senior AI Platform Engineer on Samsara’s Integrations, Data Engineering, and AI (IDEA) team. You will build, ship, and scale Samsara’s Enterprise AI platform enabling end-to-end capabilities for AI agents, including deployment, management, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of AI-powered systems: design/prototyping through production deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Build and own an end-to-end Data & AI platform (including ideation, prototyping, deployment, and monitoring).
• Architect and scale company-wide GenAI capabilities for domain-specific AI agents embedded in operational workflows.
• Support business users by providing documentation and enabling them to deploy and manage AI agents at scale.
• Lead platform investments in areas such as:
  • RAG infrastructure
  • Embedding pipelines
  • LLM orchestration
  • Multi-modal data processing.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to prototype and productionalize AI features.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building and scaling AI platform/data & AI systems from prototype to production.
• Ability to architect GenAI/AI-agent capabilities that integrate into real business workflows.

Nice-to-haves / additional signals

• Experience with Databricks and AWS (or comparable stacks).
• Experience with RAG, embedding pipelines, LLM orchestration, and multi-modal data processing.
